San Antonio for work

I recently got back from a work trip to San Antonio. The American Dental Association was holding its annual session there, and I was on site to help cover the event for Dental Tribune.

We published three issues of our at-show newspaper. I conducted interviews on site with executives from Henry Schein Dental and attended a press briefing presented by the Boston University dental school and Sirona Dental.

My articles were published in print, as well as on the Dental Tribune website — links here and here.

I also photographed many of the exhibitors at the event:

On the way to and from the convention center each day, we passed by the Alamo! I was able to take pictures in both daytime and at night:

The state capitol in Austin

Just before going to San Antonio for work, I got to spend some time in Austin, Texas, with my co-worker Kristine! It was great to hang out with her. Among the excursions we made was a visit to the Texas State Capitol building. We went inside and walked around, including inside the legislative chamber. Among the many portraits of Texas governors are those of Ann Richards and George W. Bush. On the grounds of the capitol was a marble sculpture of the 10 Commandments — with bird droppings on it.

Kristine also took me to my first Texas Longhorns game! That was fun. After the game we saw Bevo — the team’s mascot.
