Endo Tribune and coverage of the endodontic conference in San Francisco
Here’s the latest issue of Endo Tribune, featuring my report and photographs from the annual meeting of the American Association of Endodontists, AAE16, held earlier this year in San Francisco. If you click a page it will open bigger.
The article is also on the Dental Tribune website — direct link here.
‘Explore New York’ article for Dental Tribune
For this year’s “today” show daily, published by Dental Tribune on-site at the Greater New York Dental Meeting, I wrote an article for out-of-towners about what they can do for fun during their visit to the big city.
The meeting, which is an annual event in the dental industry, started just after Thanksgiving. I was the designated exhibit hall photographer for Dental Tribune, taking pictures at many of the company booths during the event. On one of the days I also covered a breakfast hosted by Henry Schein Dental, a company that is making a big push into digital technology.

The American Dental Association meets in Washington
Last week for work, I was in the nation’s capital for the annual session of the American Dental Association, held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Dental Tribune published three issues of “today,” our at-show daily newspaper, which we put together live on site.
One of my assignments was to cover the educational offerings. Here is my article, which appeared on pages 1 and 3 of the third and final day’s paper. I also took the pictures. If you click on the images they will open bigger:

How they do a root canal
It’s always fun to work on the cover of roots magazine. For this issue, which has just been printed, I wanted to try something a little different. This cover shows a handpiece and a file — the machinery used by the dentist during a root canal procedure — next to before-and-after X-ray images of a tooth that was treated.
As a non-dentist, I have come to respect and admire those who perform root canal treatment. When I show friends who are not dentists the cover of a magazine like this, most get scared or grossed out. But the thing is, it’s scary-looking equipment like this in the hands of a trained professional that can take away your pain and save your tooth.
